The BMRC incentivizes sustainable forest management through international promotion of members’ National Sustainable Forestry Systems – and the forest products they deliver.

The founding members

The founding members of the BMRC are Cameroon, Ghana, Guyana, Indonesia, Liberia and the Republic of the Congo. As more countries join, the Coalition’s market influence will increase, further incentivizing sustainable forestry management.

Any tropical country with a commitment to the development of robust national sustainable forestry systems can join. Non-tropical countries and international agencies can become associate members.

Membership

The BMRC is open to timber producing tropical forest countries which commit to validation of their forestry systems to key sustainable and legal management indicators. Non-tropical countries and international agencies can become associate members.
