How to join

Membership of the BMRC is open to timber producing tropical countries worldwide. Non-tropical countries and international agencies can become associate members.

How to become a member

Applications to join are submitted to the BMRC Council. Prospective countries will nominate representative bodies from their government, private sector, and civil society to sign up to the BMRC Joint Statement.

While being a country member demonstrates commitment to BMRC’s goals and principles, actual BMRC Endorsement and the benefits that come with this will involve separate evaluation of their NSFS conducted by a BMRC Independent Assessment Panel (IAP).

Once endorsed, or on course for endorsement, the timber products delivered under members’ NSFS will be authorized to carry BMRC labelling, with messaging stating where they are in the endorsement process.
